For Teachers
Write Michigan is a great opportunity for students! What kid doesn’t want to win $500, become a published author and feel like a star? Teachers, we would so appreciate it if you would help us spread the word by encouraging your students to enter. It might even make for a great assignment or extra-credit opportunity.
Please consider putting the following blurb in an upcoming parent newsletter:
Encourage your child to enter the Write Michigan Short Story Contest, open to Michigan writers of all ages. There are separate categories for youth, teens and adults, with youth and teens able to submit story entries for free. Winners receive up to $500 cash and get their story published in an anthology. Entries accepted at writemichigan.org through November 30. Let’s make sure that our school is represented amongst the winners!
Postcard Request
If you would like a supply of postcards to hand out to your students, please email your request to Katie at kzuidema@kdl.org. Make sure to include the quantity you need and the mailing address.
